Job Title: Yard Laborer.
Job Summary:
The Yard Laborer is responsible for maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the equipment yard. This role supports daily operations by preparing equipment for rental, assisting customers, and ensuring efficient workflow within the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload rental equipment, tools, and materials for customers and delivery vehicles.
- Inspect equipment for damage, cleanliness, and proper operation before and after rentals.
- Clean, fuel, and prepare equipment for customer use.
- Organize and maintain yard layout to ensure safe and efficient storage.
- Assist customers with locating and handling equipment as needed.
- Operate basic machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, or pressure washers (if certified).
- Perform routine yard maintenance, including sweeping, debris removal, and snow/ice clearing.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report damaged or missing equipment to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or equipment handling is a plus.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is helpful.
- Valid driver’s license (required for some companies).
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
